DON'T BE AFRAID; JUST BELIEVE
Luke 8:49-56 Saturday, January 28
Key Verse: 8:50

1. Just believe (49-50).
People see the poor condition of young people and see the hopelessly lost and spiritually dying. Friends' or families' words or actions belie such an attitude. Jesus' words? "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed" (50). Jesus hears what people are saying, but what he says is what's important and what is powerful. Jairus, against all hope, decided to listen to and believe in Jesus and kept walking with him to his daughter. We must not be afraid, but believe and pray for our children.

2. My child, get up! (51-56).
Jesus only wanted those who had faith to be with him in the room. Wailers were unbelievers, detrimental to faith and the environment. When Jesus touched her hand and told her to get up, the girl's spirit returned to her. Jesus works in an environment of faith. He restores the spirit of our children, our parents, and our nation as well.

Prayer: Lord, against all hope, I believe you heal and raise up our children and young people as your people. Grant me faith and prayer for them and my nation like that of a father or mother.

One Word: Just believe in Jesus who heals and raises our children
